The Alabama Alliance of Community Hospitals (AACH) is dedicated to promoting the stability, growth and long-term sustainability of community hospitals across our state.

Community hospitals face challenges that can differ greatly from those of large, urban medical centers. By focusing specifically on their needs, AACH helps create new opportunities for support and success—for hospitals, patients and the communities they serve.

Through advocacy, collaboration and action, we work to:

Enhance local access to highest level of quality care

Strengthen local economies

Empower local decision makers

Protect patient choice and promote fair competition

Minimize reduction of community-based healthcare services

“And to our healthcare leaders in the state: I challenge you to work with us in thinking outside the box and identifying new partners as we strive to improve healthcare in Alabama.”

Governor Kay Ivey, 2026 State of the State Address

“Rural healthcare is a necessity, not a luxury. We need to have access to a good hospital that is close to home and that is truly part of our community. Proximity can mean all the difference in situations where minutes matter.”

Stephanie A. Bryan, Tribal Chair and CEO, Poarch Creek Indians
Statement issued in conjunction with a $750,000 donation to Atmore Community Hospital
